Moving Forward

In the last few weeks I have been feeling a bit unsettled. I have had this pressure within. I am not sure what it is but I’m wrestling with some things. A couple of days ago I felt the weight of this warfare was much more profound than at other times.
As I lay on my bed trying to get a grip on my emotions and feelings and pondering about the future, the above scripture came to my heart “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all yourself ways submit to him, and He will make your paths straight.”
I thought I trusted God. I thought I had faith. I am learning that patience is a real element in having real trust in God and it takes faith to accomplish this. I find that waiting on God’s timing requires me being patient and having faith that He will do what He has promised. Faith is trust and God deserves our trust. As we are told in Hebrews 11:6 “ But without faith it is impossible to please Him……” So here I am waiting faithfully ….
As we move forward this season (and it is a new season), we have just been reminded of the work of Jesus on the cross (resurrection Sunday) and we have also just entered into Spring – a new season. A time when plants start to flower and bloom and trees begin to grow their leaves. This is a time of change. A time to reset. A time for the new and also a time of transition for us all.
This is so amazing! I encourage everyone, (myself included) to look forward to this new season, this new time and embrace the new things that our Father has in store for us. God spoke through Isaiah during Judah’s captivity. He called them to forget their struggles and he told them He was giving them a new identity – “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
Isaiah 43:19 NIV.This new season God is doing something new in us and for us and through us. He is tapping into strength we never knew we had. It requires us to step out into the unknown. It will feel uncomfortable. It will be scary and unpleasant. We will be tempted to hold on to the familiar. The pre- COVID days of comfort and ease but we need to let go of the old and trust God for the new. God is birthing something new on the inside of us all. Therefore, let us all step out in faith trusting the Father and not our own understanding.
Moving Forward
We have been through a lot in the past one year both physically and spiritually. We have seen the death of the old season; the old ways and we are in the beginning of a new season. We move forward by putting to death our old ways, our old belief system and mindset. God is bringing us from a mindset of doubt to faith. He is giving us new blueprints for our lives. New strategies and fresh wisdom for the assignment that He has for us. Even as you are reading this, I want you to know that He has a plan. A purpose and an assignment for you regardless of how young or old you are. Regardless of what you have been through or going through.
This season God is asking you to “trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3: 5-6.
We have relied on our own understanding for a while now and have allowed logical thinking to replace walking by faith. The Lord is calling us in this new season to trust Him completely and to not rely on our own opinions. He is saying we don’t have to try and figure everything out on our own. We just need to rely on Him and He will lead us in every decision we make.
When we have important decisions to make we sometimes feel we can’t trust anyone- not even God. However, leaning on our own understanding causes us to be impatient. It counters our faith in God and can lead us in ways that are oppositional to the will of God. On the other hand, patience allows us to stay in God’s timing for our lives; leaning not on our own understanding. This is the place where our faith and trust grows until we enter into the promises, he has for us.
With all this in mind, let us not be wise in our own eyes but let us walk in continuous meekness. I pray that God gives us the strength to always listen and bring every decision to Him in prayer. To trust Him completely with every choice we make. Let the Word be our guide and then we can follow His leading. If we do this, He will direct our paths by leading the way and protecting us in this new season.
Have a great one!
